Kate Histon spent ten years training in one of Australia’s most notable ballet schools, dedicated, serious, and deeply in love with dance. She was also, without the language to name it at the time, living inside a coercive system where harmful behaviour had been normalised for years.

What that experience cost her became the foundation for everything that followed.

She came back to dance not because she had forgotten what it cost her, but because she understood it clearly enough to do something about it. That choice became a career spanning four decades: studio owner for twenty three years, international adjudicator across four continents, and host of the Dance Real Podcast.

Today Kate works across three areas. With dancers, she builds the mindset, confidence and performance skills that allow them to thrive under pressure without losing themselves in the process. With studio owners and educators, she facilitates culture audits, leadership development and ecosystem training that help entire communities function at their best. With parents, she offers the grounding and perspective needed to support a child’s dance journey well.
